Hi! My name is Spencer, and I'm glad you're here! I decided to start The Kitchen Coalition to help people sharpen their cooking skills with recipes are sure to please.
I grew up in the suburbs outside of Chicago, and I am currently living in Western North Carolina with my incredible wife, Stacy, and our two amazing boys, Averett and Shepherd. (I also can't forget about our dog, Milo!) The southeast has been my home since the summer of 2005, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!
What really sparked my interest in making delicious food was the desire to connect with family and friends. I have been taking home cooking seriously since 2010, which was the summer after graduating from an out-of-state automotive technical school. I used every excuse to have friends and family over in order to reconnect, and this included gathering around food. If you are going to share a meal together, why not find a way to make it as delicious as possible? This is a question that I continue to ask myself and has been a guiding principle in my cooking journey ever since then.
