Tartar Sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make condiment that goes well with pretty much any seafood dish. This recipe will add a creamy, deliciously tangy, and flavorful addition to whatever you serve it with! Let's dig in.

Homemade Tartar Sauce

Ingredients

This recipe uses very simple and easy-to-find ingredients. It comes together in a couple of minutes and tastes so much better than any store-bought version. The complete list of ingredients is below:

Homemade Tartar Sauce
  • Mayonnaise
  • Minced Dill Pickles
  • Minced Garlic
  • Minced Capers
  • Parsley
  • Zest and Juice from Half of a Lemon
  • Kosher Salt
  • Fresh Cracked Black Pepper

Use quality ingredients and you'll be sure to end up with a really delicious condiment. It's as simple as adding all of the ingredients to a bowl and mixing! I like to make this ahead of time, then cover and chill until I'm ready to serve it.

Tartar Sauce Uses

The classic paring for tartar sauce is pretty much any and all seafood (especially fried dishes). Things like crab cakes, fish and chips, and shrimp are absolutely perfect pairings. Here are a few other serving suggestions and uses for this recipe:

  • Serve with my recipe for Crab Cakes with Old Bay Remoulade
  • Serve it with fried fish, such as cod, flounder, or shrimp.
  • Use it as a dip for French fries, vegetables, or fried chicken.

Homemade Tartar Sauce is a delicious, easy, and versatile condiment that can be enjoyed with a variety of foods. It's easy to make and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. So next time you're looking for a tasty dipping sauce for seafood, give this recipe a try!
